Welcome! The Campaign Begins!

Help us save services for the disabled!

So far (and only as 'In Year' cuts) and that's ahead of much more stringent cuts being annnounced in mid November (16th), EALING COUNCIL has said they have plans to cut the following services within Adult Social Services:
THE ALBERT DANE CENTRE is a 40-place day centre for adults aged 18 to 64 years with a physical disability and/or sensory impairment based in Western Rd, Southall.
It has survived closure in the (recent) past with support from the amazing body of service users and their famillies & carers, unions and the local community.
HELP SAVE IT NOW!
The Albert Dane Centre, 19/21 Western Road, Southall, Middlesex UB2 5HA
Tel: (020) 8574 5074
Write to your local MP, local councillor to protest, or even better email the Ealing Council Adult Social Services Director - Stephen Day - days@ealing.gov.uk
Val Garrard - Albert Dane service user - 'We have to fight to keep this open. The people that go there are like a small family unit, they find it hard to make friends in the able bodied world and this is removing a large part of their world.
PLEASE HELP! Write letters to your MP's, councillors and the newspapers, send emails to the media.'

A Successful First petition and stall was held on Saturday 1st October in Ealing Broadway High street. Service users, ADC staff, members of The Socialist Party and Unison Activists all came down to hand out leaflets and gain support. A photographer from The Gazette also came to take a picture for the local paper.
Asian service users and staff also had a very successful campaign meeting at The Gurdwara in Southall where over 200 signatures were collected in less then an hour !

Please join in the the fight and help us leaflet and petition.

Sunday 10th October
 12pm - 2pm Gurdwara, Havelock Road, Southall.

Please help save this unique and hugely needed service serving the most vulnerable people in society!
